What happens in Poole Harbour every September ?

The ‘Poole Harbour Race’ is a race around the harbour with a choice of 4, 8 or 15 miles. All races start from a sandy beach on the edge of the harbour.
The two longer courses both go round Brownsea Island whilst the short course runs along the shoreline towards Poole and then turns to pass the beach from which we started after approximately 2 miles - before heading on towards Rockley - and then finally returning to finish at the starting point. The 4 mile race is suitable for aspiring juniors and novices
Any boat is welcome K1, K2, Ski, Sea kayak (classic and racing), Wavehopper, WWR, C1, C2, OC1, Canadian, General purpose or 6 man Hawaiian canoe & starting in 2017 - Stand up Paddle Boards.
All ages and abilities welcome. For U12 and U10 there is a short race too ( Separate entry forms [links below] ).
The format features a “Le-Mans” style start from the beach at Lake Pier, Poole, BH15 4LR (for Sat Nav users)
Burgers, cakes and tea for competitors are included on your return -
and Pre-race Bacon Rolls are available too.
